bloober team The Medium Official Reveal Bloober Team delay delayed january 2021

With the Covid-19 pandemic worsening around the globe, it’s a wonder that this is the first time in a while a developer has cited it as a reason for delay. Bloober Team, the horror-centric studio behind 2017’s Observer and 2019’s Blair Witch Project, has delayed its latest title, The Medium from an unspecified day this December to the much more specific date of January 28, 2021.

Announced in a post on the official Twitter page for The Medium, the delay “wasn’t an easy choice to make, but one made due to the Covid-19 situation in Poland, as well as the current schedule of other games on the market.” In Poland, the Covid-19 pandemic has been worsening, with the country’s President recently contracting the virus himself. What is The Medium?

Regardless of why the game has been delayed, Bloober will use the time to “add further polish” and “deliver our innovative, genre-pushing vision of interactive psychological horror.” Updates on the game will continue to come from Bloober Team as The Medium‘s new release date approaches.
