Comic book legend Frank Miller’s new imprint inks deal with Diamond

Frank Miller Presents will be serving up a quarterly slate, beginning with some of the title creator’s own famed works, all distributed by Diamond.

The man with the hat is back

Talk about comics in an ‘modern’ sense, and there are few names that rival Frank Miller. The writer/artist/creator has been a force in the medium for decades, and owns some of the biggest and most impactful stories to ever see the printed page.

How impactful? How’s “Daredevil: Born Again, The Dark Knight Returns, Batman: Year One, Sin City, and 300” sound? The man is used to producing big time stuff, and now he’s got his own company.

Last week, Miller announced Frank Miller Presents, his new label. He will officially be editor-in-chief for FMP, joined by long time DC Comics headman Dan Didio, as the new imprint’s publisher. FMP will begin publication of 2-4 books a year, each one featuring “a range of talent, from comics veterans to rising artists”.

But be that as it may, it wouldn’t feel right if Frank Miller Productions didn’t have some Frank Miller books. And it definitely will have those, with Sin City and Ronin seeing new chapters. they’ll be joined by new properties Pandora and Ancient Enemies.

FMP will aim to produce two to four titles a year, which will be a mix of Miller’s creations and new works. Miller is returning to the world of his acclaimed noir series Sin City with a Western tale set in the city’s past, titled Sin City 1858Ronin Book Two is a follow-up to the six-issue miniseries originally published by DC in 1983 and 1984 and focused on a ronin reincarnated in a bleak future.

Diamond press release

The above will come to shops by way of Diamond, itself a legacy-force within the industry. The company will be shipping FMP’s line of books to both comic shops and specialty stores nationwide, and also globally under the Diamond Book Distributors banner.

It looks like there isn’t a set launch date as of yet for all of this, but you can probably look for it all to kick off some time soon.

“It’s a new day and I’m excited by this partnership.  We are eager and ready to start,”

Frank Miller
