Dirt 5 moves up launch, coming in November

Looking to take advantage of the next-generation’s launch, Codemasters’ Dirt 5 will be racing to retail in November.

Ice racing into the holidays

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you know that the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S are coming up for the holidays. Yeah, it’s a weird year, but that’s not gonna stop the video game industry. And it’s not going to stop Codemasters either.

The developer has announced that it’s rugged, off-road racing series Dirt will be receiving current-gen and PC versions of its fifth numbered installment on November 6th.

The Xbox Series X version will be launching with the console on November 10th, and will be upgradable for free from an Xbox One copy. A PS5 version will be along before year’s end as well, and there’s a Stadia edition too, which will see release in 2021.

They want to get the game out there to take advantage of a next-gen holiday.

DIRT 5 has received widespread critical acclaim, culminating with it receiving the Gamescom 2020 Best Racing Game Award,” said Chief Executive Officer at Codemasters Frank Sagnier. “The revised launch date will allow us to take advantage of the next generation console launches which are expected in time for the holiday season.”

Oh, and the ice is actually a frozen-over east river in NYC. And there are fireworks.
