Doomsday is coming… in 2 parts

Trade waiting is a part of the comic book collecting hobby, and if you’ve been waiting on Doomsday Clock, your time is (partially) coming this fall.

Doomsday is coming… in 2 parts

Doomsday Clock is, without a doubt, one of the biggest DC Comics events in years. Not only that, but it’s been a success at retail and with both fans and critics. That’s no surprise, since it’s the first official sequel to the classic Alan Moore mini-series Watchmen. It is also, however, incredibly slow moving.

The series, which combines the traditional DC universe and the Watchmen U (in canon for both), has seen several delays. So with that you might imagine that a collected version of the story would be a ways off. Well, yes and no.

DC has announced that a collected version is coming up this fall, but that it’ll be arriving in 2 parts. Doomsday Clock Part 1 will hit retail stores this October, and includes issues 1 through 6.

It’ll have a total of 224 pages though, so it’s no slouch in terms of content. In addition to the 6-part story, fans will also find all of the extra content from the individual comics, a new cover from Gary Frank and a set of 6 variant covers from both Frank and colorist Brad Anderson.

As for part 2, that’s a bit more of a ways off. Doomsday Clock Part 2 is scheduled to land on shelves in May of 2020. That will present issues 7 through 12.

Both editions will cost $24.99 USD.
