Konami has released the ‘director’s cut’ version of the Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain trailer seen at the Xbox One press briefing and it looks more impressive than ever.
Warning: This one’s a little more graphic than the version shown at E3
Metal Gear has been one of the consistently best looking games available in any generation and The Phantom Pain is no exception. Creator Hideo Kojima continues to blend cinema with gaming a beautiful new ways and Metal Gear Solid 5 looks like a total stunner in pretty much every way.
An open world is something brand new for the franchise and certainly creates a whole new world for Snake to explore and exploit on his mission. And of course, there are set to be a ton of characters both new and old that he’ll be interacting with.
The new METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN trailer showcases the FOX Engine’s exceptional level of photorealistic visual quality with seamless integration of gameplay and cut scenes. This title will introduce a new open-world game design featuring realtime weather, realistic passage of time and a variety of ways to navigate the vast new environments within the game. In addition to the franchise’s returning characters, such as Snake, Kazuhira Miller, Ocelot, and Emmerich, METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN will introduce all new characters to the METAL GEAR universe. The storyline will focus on dark themes that portray the ugliness and tragedy of war, as a legendary hero falls from grace.
Everything about MGSV looks pretty great, but I’m still stuck on those graphics. The game truly looks next generation in every way. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is set to debut on the Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3 and PS4.
