Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade will be available for purchase on Steam starting tomorrow, June 17. Square Enix announced the news today during its big FF VII 25th anniversary shindig. Along with the news, the company confirmed that FFVII Remake Intergrade is fully compatible on the Steam Deck, allowing you to take its ragtag protags with bad hair on the go.
The Steam page went live moments after the show began its countdown. That robbed the reveal of some impact for eagle-eyed fans. However, for most, this is welcome news. Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade has been on the Epic Games Store since December of 2021, but now it’s heading to Steam. The surprise announcement was likely expected, as many exclusivity contracts for the EGS have only been around six to 12 months.
Intergrade took the already impressive-looking remake up a notch. It provided visual enhancements, as well as a new episode that starred everyone’s favorite character Yuffie. It followed Yuffie as she infiltrated Midgar to “steal the ultimate materia from the Shinra Electric Power Company.” Overall, we loved the new version of the popular remake. Even though there were stuttering issues (later fixed) and a lack of options, we still called it the “most jaw-droppingly gorgeous way to play an amazing game.”
A fairly substantial package
Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade will bring a ton of extras when it gets to Steam tomorrow. It includes a new weapon, the Cacstar, along with three new armors, three accessories, and three summon materia. To claim them, all you need to do is open up the Gift Box in the menu. Intergrade isn’t all too taxing on PCs, either. You’ll need a GTX 1080 or RX 5700 GPU, and a i7-3770 or Ryzen 3 3100 for recommended specs.
Don’t expect it to be cheap, however. While the Steam store doesn’t currently list a price, it’s $70 over on the Epic Games Store.
