Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments will be a very different game for fans of the long running adventure games series from Focus Home Interactive. Namely, it’s going to be a whole lot prettier.
Developer Frogwares switched away from its own proprietary engine for C&P and it using Unreal Engine 3 to render the game- hence the extra pretty. The end result will be bigger, more highly detailed environments for Holmes and the new no-so creepy Watson to explore.
Areas should be more varied as well and will put Holmes’ new investigative skills to the test. Frogwares promises that players are going to feel a lot more like the consulting detective as the play the new game with a new skill that will allow for Sherlock to ‘guess’ facts about suspects lives simply by looking at them. That’s a pretty big part of the Holmes fiction, so it’s extra cool as a fan to see it play into the series.
Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments will be available this year with more details incoming at E3 in June.
