Looking for Donkey Kong? He’s here at Gamescom as well, and looking as good as ever.
Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze was first revealed on Nintendo‘s E3 Direct. As expected, the title is as solid as ever, with smooth platforming goodness combined with tight controls. To top it all off, David Wise, the man responsible for the original Donkey Kong Country trilogy’s music is back to compose for DKCTF. In this video we see the first stage being played, and true to the classic Donkey Kong formula the player is capable entering the dwelling DK emerges from in the first level. This time, instead of DK’s house, you’re examining the inside of a crashed airplane.
The level gets you familiarized with the swimming mechanics right away as you plunge into a lake near the beginning of the stage. In order to propel yourself forward in the water, you’ll have to shake the Wii remote while controlling Donkey Kong with the nunchuck‘s control stick. You can also see some moving parts in the level that appear to be pieces of an airplane sprawled across the jungle. Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze is coming to the Wii U this November.
