Marvel’s surprise mega-hit is on the way to digital and disc-based formats.
Well, there you go- celebrities like it, so it must be good.
All kidding aside though, GotG was a runaway hit. The movie defeated plenty of other blockbuster films in the money-making arena in 2014 and easily became one of the biggest films of all-time, especially for one released in August. The late Summer season isn’t exactly known for producing must-see flicks after all. Now that the film is headed to home video, it’s probably set to rack up tons more on it’s already impressive tally too.
You don’t have all that long to wait either as Guardians of the Galaxy is coming to digital Digital HD plus Disney Movies Anywhere on November 18th. Want a disc? It hits Blu Ray formats on December 9th with a pair of releases; a straight-up Blu Ray release, as well as a combo pack that includes the Blu Ray version, a 3D edition, and a Digital HD copy for portable viewing. Oddly enough, there’s no mention of a DVD release in the announcement, a quick check of retailers though, and it can be confirmed as being on the way. It looks like it just isn’t being chatted about as much as the Blu Ray and digital editions. Sign of the times I suppose.
