The new WWII shooter Hell Let Loose from Black Matter makes the jump to the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S in October. A PS5 beta goes live next week.
Lock and load
Opening up action on the PC this summer, Black Matter’s Hell Let Loose shakes up the WWII genre a bit. This isn’t a one-man army kind of adventure, instead adding in a bit of strategic thinking for players.
And yes, that’s a plural, as Hell Let Loose is a multiplayer title. It’s one with serious variety too, with 14 different roles for players to dig into, as they help their side to victory.
- The brutality of the War in Europe: Hell Let Loose portrays the battles of the Western Front across two distinct modes, Offensive and Warfare.
- Authentic strategic gameplay: Each side of 50 players is broken down into armour, infantry, and recon, led by officers with a direct line to an overall player-commander directing the flow of the game.
- Unique metagame: Extended battles entrench participants in the tidal-like motion of the frontline that builds up Hell Let Loose’s real-time strategy inspired metagame.
- Playing a Part: Fourteen roles are available for players to experience, from engineers and snipers, commanders and tank crewmen, medics and support; all play a part in the war effort.
Now with an official release date, the game will head from the PC onto the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Expect that on October 5th. But before we get to that, there’s a beta to check out.
Exclusive to the PS5, the beta for Hell Let Loose will run from the 16th to the 20th of this month (September). So if you want to try the war on for size before you buy, you can. If you know you want in though, pre-orders are open right now.
