House of Ashes is the third installment in The Dark Pictures Anthology. Like previous games in the series (and, yes, including Until Dawn), players take control of several characters. You complete quick-time events (QTEs) and make pivotal decisions. Some will lead to success and survival, while others will spell certain doom. Here’s our guides and features hub to help you with everything you need to know about House of Ashes.
Note: We’ll be adding more guides to our House of Ashes hub, so stay tuned. Likewise, please be reminded that several of these guides contain spoilers.
The Dark Pictures: House of Ashes – Guides and features hub
Official review – Horror fans might be looking forward to House of Ashes. This game takes you down to the depths, where a mysterious ancient curse takes hold. Naturally, there are other twists to keep in mind. Is it worth your while?
How to unlock Curator’s Cut and bonus features – You’ll probably want to see how the campaign plays out based on someone else’s perspective.
How to skip scenes by having backup saves – It’s been six years and Supermassive Games still hasn’t included an option that respects the player’s time. Thankfully, there are some workarounds to alleviate this issue.
All premonitions/pictures – This time around, the premonitions that warn you about character fates look like stone tablets.
The 13th premonition and The Devil In Me – The 13th premonition usually gives you a glimpse into the next game in the series. House of Ashes is no different since we’ll see tidbits from The Devil In Me.
All Randolph’s Journal locations – Randolph’s Journal entries are a new type of collectible. They tell you about the fates of the archaeologists that visited the temple many decades ago.
All bearings and major decisions – Bearings are important plot points and key decisions will affect how your playthrough progresses.
Until Death bearing (Eric/Rachel romance and a secret scene) – There’s one particular bearing that involves the estranged couple which, in turn, leads to a treat for long-time fans.
Daylight finale, all endings, and all mid-credits scenes – The whole ordeal will finally be over, but not until you clear some extremely hectic challenges. After this point, you’ll be treated to the game’s ending and mid-credits scenes.
Dumb ways to die: Character death scenes – If you’re not careful, your own characters could meet their untimely demise.
