Injustice introduces Scorpion, sneak peeks Martian Manhunter

NetherRealm’s DC Comics fighter Injustice: Gods Among Us is getting a little Mortal Kombat flavor in the form of a redesigned Scorpion, and comic fans should be very happy to see who he’s brought along with him.

Unlike some people, I was already pretty happy that Scorpion was to be the next DLC character in Injustice, this trailer made me all that much more giddy to see him. I guess if I had my choice I would have preferred to have seen another DC character take the roster spot, but Scorp’s one of my favorite MK fighters to begin with and the redeco by comics legend Jim Lee is looking pretty amazing in that trailer.

Also dulling the Scorpion DLC choice a bit is the fact that the Manhunter from Mars, J’onn J’onzz glides onto the scene at the end. A staple Justice League character since the creation of the team, Martian Manhunter was conspiculously absent from the roster of Injustice and it’s awesome to see the long time Leaguer appear in this new trailer.

So is he in this ’round’ of DLC? Is there a chance that there’ll be a second offering of characters where we’ll find J’onn? And what happened to the rumored General Zod DLC?  Right now, we don’t know the answers to any of these questions, but I will say that I’m sure a Zod character pack isn’t off the table in any way since this month’s Man of Steel motion picture (which looks awesome by the way) features the Kryptonian war criminal as the main heavy.

Either way, I’m sure we’ll find all this out sooner rather than later with E3 inbound. For the time being though, let’s get back to the ninja ghost with the most, because Scorpion is soon to be available for the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of Injustice (sorry Wii U fans) for 400 MS points and $4.99 respectively.
