A nice surprise from a few years ago, Redout brought fast-paced, futuristic racing action back to consoles and PC. The sequel arrives in a little over a month.
Seeing red again
From publisher Saber Interactive and 34BigThings, Redout 2 is set to bring the futuristic ‘Redout’ universe back to the race track. It’s also set to improve on the original game in a whole bunch of ways. So if you liked that, check this out:
Redout 2 is the biggest and fastest entry in the series yet, with more tracks than ever before. Strafe, tilt and boost your customizable hovership through dozens of mind-bending, jaw-dropping courses in a variety of game modes, including an expansive single-player campaign plus competitive online multiplayer for up to 12 players on PC, PlayStation and Xbox, and up to six players on Nintendo Switch.
Saber Interactive press release
Redout 2 will offer both multiplayer as well as a 36-track-deep career mode, including “boss” races. Kind of a cool idea there. But that’s not all, as the game will also serve up plenty of customization.
Players will be able to construct their own racers, picking from “12 distinct chassis”. That will include sorting between “propulsors, stabilizers, rudders, intercoolers, flaps, magnets, wings, spoilers, rocket engines, paints and more!” Want more? You an also expect a photo mode, “regularly added custom content and seasons featuring bonus rewards” for the multiplayer, and a “futuristic” soundtrack.
Watch for Redout 2 to hit consoles and the PC on May 28th.
