MadCatz announces the S.T.R.I.K.E.M wireless keyboard

The newest addition to the S.T.R.I.K.E. line of keyboards is a wireless unit that’s got an eye towards mobility.

If you follow us regularly, then you already know that we’re pretty big fans of MadCatz’ stuff here at BG. Their top shelf line of mice and keyboards really can’t be best and represents some of the best gaming (and non-gaming) tech goodies in the business. The newly announced S.T.R.I.K.E.M might not be as big and bad as the S.T.R.I.K.E.7, but it’s still pretty nifty and just might be a perfect fit if you’re on the lookout for a new portable ‘board.

With a massive 45 hours of battery life built into its rechargeable Lithium Polymer Battery, the new M is capable of hanging in there pretty much wherever you might need it. And just because it was made with mobile tablet work in mind, don’t think they this is a one-trick pony. The M can hookup to a phone, computer (which is great for couch surfing/gaming), and even MadCatz’ own set-top box the MOJO via bluetooth.

“The recent addition of support for controllers and other gaming peripherals on Android devices established the infrastructure to support a mouse and keyboard gaming experience on mobile” said Darren Richardson, the President and Chief Executive Officer of Mad Catz.  “We are also excited by the progress made by cloud gaming services, like OnLive®, that allow gamers to play hundreds of PC games from AAA publishers streamed from the cloud to a smart device.  There’s no doubt controller-supported games and cloud gaming on mobile devices are emerging categories, but we believe the market for products like theS.T.R.I.K.E.Mand the entire ecosystem of GameSmart peripherals that enable a core gaming experience on mobile devices will emerge this year.”

Be on the lookout for the S.T.R.I.K.E.M some time this year in glossy black, red, or white.
