Marvel’s Midnight Suns season pass brings Deadpool, Venom, and Mor(b)

Marvel's Midnight Suns Arc Raiders Delayed Pc 2023

Marvel’s Midnight Suns, a game usually described as “Xcom but with Marvel characters,” will not only  have a season pass (because of course it does), but we now have an idea as to what beloved, and not so beloved, characters will be viciously paywalled. If you were hoping to just be able to buy the game and play as your favorites, you should have known better, as you’re going to need to pony up some additional cash to utilize them during the game’s turn-based shenanigans.

If you’re thinking, “There’s no way 2K would go out of its way to lock three of the most beloved Marvel characters and one meme machine behind DLC,” well guess again. Marvel’s Midnight Suns is getting four DLC packs. They feature Deadpool, Venom, Morbius, and Storm. Any Marvel fan will obviously be clamoring to get three of those. But why Morbius? For meme potential? Do we really need additional “It’s morbin’ time” memes? There are ten million of those already. Let’s give it a break for now. Although I guess I’m technically participating in that right now. Kind of hypocritical, no?

Morb than words

But the season pass for Marvel’s Midnight Suns won’t just feature the characters alone. Each pack will come with new missions, outfits, skins, and upgrades for the Abbey, which is probably the church the characters use for a headquarters or something. In addition to the above, the season pass also contains 23 premium skins for characters that aren’t paywalled, including Spider-Man, Iron Man, Captain America, and Blade. They included Blade in the base game but we have to pay extra for Deadpool, Venom, and Storm? Yeesh. The game is set for release on December 2, so we have plenty of time to be mad about this before begrudgingly opening our wallets. Hoorah.
