Microsoft’s Xbox One First-Party Game Pricing Outed

Don’t bother buying a bigger wallet just yet – Xbox One‘s first-party titles will be $60 (US).

Forza Motorsport 5 Xbox OneSpeaking to Polygon, a representative from Microsoft has finally given the official word on the pricing for their first-party games. Microsoft Studios titles will have a recommended retail price of $60 (US), following the average price of this console generation’s new releases. While Sony have kept mum about the official pricing of their own releases for the Playstation 4, comments by Sony America CEO Jack Tretton earlier in the year at the Playstation 4 unveiling event indicated things may not be any different from Microsoft‘s plans:

“We’re going to welcome free-to-play models, games from $.99 up to those $60 games.”

Sony‘s final pricing plans for their first-party titles are still unclear at this point, although pricing for both platforms on several online retailers including Amazon indicate they very well may follow suit.
