Modern Warfare and Witness go free in March 2019 for PS+

It’s a month of change for PlayStation Plus. March ushers out support for legacy consoles, and focuses squarely on the current-gen PS4.

If you’re a PS3 or PS Vita gamer, well this just isn’t your month. And you also might want to reconsider PlayStation Plus all together if those legacy Sony consoles are all that you’re into. That’s because PS+ will no longer offer games for either one.

As we told you last year, March 2019 sees a fundamental change to the service. Support is dropped for prior Sony consoles, but unchanged otherwise. Instead of adding anything, Sony has dropped free games for the Vita and PS3.

What freebies gamers do get this March though, is pretty great. Both Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered and Jonathan Blow’s Witness are free to download and play as long as you have an active subscription.

Not too shabby there, as MWR is a gem and a half, seeing a classic FPS redone in a gorgeously modern way. And Witness, while I haven’t played it, is a very highly regarded indie title.
