In a bit of a shock move, Activision has posted both Prototype games to Xbox live in a bundle pack for the Xbox One.
There’s a lot of confusion here, so we’ll relate what we can. There honestly isn’t al that much news though, so bear with us. And it’s not that Prototype is a massive release or anything, but the games were pretty darn enjoyable and for them to appear on Xbox live in a new format with no fanfare at all is just kind of strange.
That’s exactly what Activision has done though, as the Radical Entertainment developed titles are now available on Microsoft’s current generation machine. The games are available only as set, in what’s called the Biohazard Bundle, and cost $49.99 USD.
It’s unclear if these are ‘HD’ re-releases with bumped-up graphics, or just straight ports, but they do look a little better from the preview screens on Xbox Live. Both games in the collation include the full suite of original DLC too, which is nice if expected with this sort of thing.
I’ll add too, that I enjoyed both games greatly. They’re open-world action titles set in NYC, with characters that (while they don’t look like him or have even a remotely similar story) can behave very much like the Hulk in Radical’s older release- Hulk: Ultimate Destruction. And if you ever played that game, then you know that it was amazingly fun, and probably the only good representation of Marvel’s Hulk in a game ever.
Though you won’t be destroying buildings in either Prototype, you can wreck pretty much everything else and use some awesome ‘viral’ abilities. It’s unique stuff, and if you’ve never played, just might be worth a spin… or a download as the case may be.
