Developer Pinkerton Road’s next big adventure title, following up Cognition, is the adventure/mystery tale Moebius.
Malachi Rector is a genius. With one glance he can size up artifacts, and even people, to distinguish a genuine treasure from a cheap fake. This talent has made him rich in the world of high-end antiques. But it also gets him in trouble. When a secretive government agency enlists Malachi for an unusual project, he realizes that there’s more to his uncanny talent than he knew. His discerning eye, his aloof personality, the childhood trauma that shaped who he became — all are historically significant. And Malachi’s about to meet a man in his travels who holds the key.
The first title that Gabriel Knight creator Jane Jensen has completely overseen since Gabriel Knight 3 way back in 1993, Moebius is the product of a successful Kickstarter campaign. If you know Jensen and her work, then you know how great that is as the writer has a knack for penning some very cool supernaturally-tinged adventure stories. Moebius looks no different from her past work as the trailer tells a story of intrigue, action and even a little humor with the fish-out-of-water Rector and his bodyguard plunked in the middle of a circumstance that looks to be way bigger than either of them can handle.
Moebius will be released for the PC, Mac and Linux sometime in early 2014, with iOS and Android versions due shortly after. As for Pinkerton Road, their follow-up will be familiar ground indeed- a remake of Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Father. No release date as of yet for that one, but we’ll keep you posted.
