Marvel’s newest crossover event is maybe its biggest ever, and will redefine the Marvel U in its wake. So maybe a little primer is in order, to get you up to speed?
With an even this big, Marvel thinks it just might be time to take a look back and see what comics have been leading into this Summer’s big show. As I haven’t really been following along with the books included in this new trade paperback, I’m kind of thinking it’s a good idea too.
Secret Wars Prelude TPB (trade paperback) will include New Avengers (2013) #1-3, Secret Wars (1984) #10-12, Fantastic Four #611, Ultimate Comics Spider-Man (2011) #1 and Ultimate Comics Ultimates #4. All of those books might seem pretty disparate, but they’re all tied together in some way, and all of them have clues as to the opening volley of the all new Secret Wars.
“These primer TPBs have become hugely successful over the years for both retailers and readers,” says Marvel SVP Sales & Marketing David Gabriel. “A single volume of stories, these collections are the perfect way to catch up, see the building blocks of the event, and be ready to jump head first directly into the first issue! Carefully handpicked tales from Marvel’s SVP Executive Editor Tom Brevoort, this volume is chock full of the titanic tales you need to read, or reread, before the release of Secret Wars #1!”
Secret Wars (and its myriad of accompanying series’) kicks off this May, and the primer trade will arrive just in time to get you all set to enjoy what Marvel is cooking up. Look for the Secret Wars Prelude TPB on store shelves this May the 6th.
