While the world continues in its current state, there is no chance of friends gathering (safely) together in large numbers just to do something they love. However, thanks to the power of multiplayer experiences, everyone has a viable alternative to real-life interaction. For skaters, you now have a chance as well. Skater XL has unleashed its new multiplayer open beta. Easy Day Studios’ skate sim will open up with a free skate mode that can support up to 10 players.
You can skate with friends or even random players. There are private rooms to keep out the uncool people too. In the new update on the game’s Steam page, the development team has revealed that plenty of work went into perfecting the formula.
Following plenty of design work and internal testing, the Skater XL multiplayer open beta is feeling smooth, lag-free, and fun. What more could you ask for if you are just hanging around with friends and doing cool tricks?
To be able to get together, skate together, and just enjoy yourself is a luxury these days. Skater XL brings that experience to you with its latest addition.
Free and easy
With the open beta nature of it, there will likely still be issues and bugs. Easy Day Studios is treating it as a stress test of sorts on PC, so just be aware. If you spot any particular area in need of some fixing, you can let the team know via the feedback link in the game itself.
For those who have installed mods previously, it is also recommended that you remove them before jumping into the Skater XL multiplayer open beta. However, custom maps should work as long as all players joining in have them installed.
If you want to start shredding with your friends, follow these steps:
- Right-click on Skater XL in Steam, open up Properties
- Select the “beta – Open Beta” branch
- Wait for the install to finish
- Start skating
It is that simple. Good luck, and have fun!
