Go back to the 80s for Super7’s newest ReAction line. If you recall Action Masters, you’re going to love what they’ve done with the Transformers.
You might be wondering what a “ReAction” figure is. If you’re not big into the collector space, you’re forgiven for that query since they’re not the most readily available of things. What they are though, is pretty slick.
From toy-maker Super7, ReAction figures are retro-styled figures featuring five points of articulation. They’re meant to recall the days of Kenner dominance in the 90s, when the first line of Star Wars figures was all the rage.
There are ReAction figures for a bunch of licenses at this point, including Masters of the Universe, Alien, Planet of the Apes, and now – Transformers. Of course, this isn’t the first time that the bots from Cybertron have been in this form factor.
Making the Transformers ReAction line even cooler is the fact that Action Masters did it already back in the 90s. Non-transformable, Action Masters were Hasbro’s attempt at a new format for Transformers. It didn’t work too well at the time, but using the five point form for collector-aimed figures is a bit of a different proposition.
And you can’t argue with the results either, as these look all kinds of awesome.
In total, wave 1 of the Transformers includes:
- Optimus Prime, the Heroic Leader of the Autobots
- Jazz, Autobot Special Operations Agent
- Bumblebee, the small but mighty Autobot Warrior
- Megatron, the Evil Leader of the Decipticons
- Soundwave, the Decepticon Master of Commuincations
- Starscream, the treacherous Decepticon Air Commander
All are available right now at Super7’s online shop. Each one will cots you $18 USD.
