Fans who’ve been keeping up with the television event Crisis on Infinite Earths will want to check out this new DC Comics, 100 page special.
There will be… a Crisis
Say “Crisis” to any long time DC Comics fan and they’ll immediately know what you’re talking about. The series of ‘event books’ bearing the Crisis tag is a long one, and they’re usually impactful.
This year’s huge, five-part television crossover event on the CW featured the first ever Crisis outside of the printed page. It was a well received mini-series too, with episodes containing a boat load of DC stars, as well as cameos from shows and movies decades old.
The ending was a great treat too, with a current DC movie character showing up in the Arrowverse. I won’t spoil it here, since it’s actually pretty awesome.
And just in case you know all about it, and you’ve seen all that Crisis on Infinite Earths has to offer, but want more, DC Comics has you covered. A 100 page ‘Giant’, the latest in the series, has hit stores as of today, and it sounds like something special.
The originator of Crisis, writer Marv Wolfman, and DC TV’s Marc Guggenheim have created an all new tale for this one. With pencils from Tom Derenick, it stars the characters from the mini-series, though that’s not all.
Inside, you’ll also find an 8 page backup tale from Wolfman and Guggenheim, with art by none other than Tom Grummett. There’s also a reprint of the first issue of the very first Crisis story, and an “excerpt” from issue 7 of that run. That seems a little odd, but it’s still neat.
The CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS GIANT #1 will run you $4.99 USD, and is available now. Click here to grab a copy and check out an 8 page preview.
